wedding card

This is for Rob and Carly and for the challenges at:

Charisma Cardz , Stamp Something and Pollycraft.

Have a lovely day!

Woyww

Here we go again, couldn't keep away any longer :). And summer vacation is here so I have no excuse really...

Today I'm working on my pins, mailman brought some new pearls yesterday. And the gorgeous easel is on display, thank you a million times Julia, it's wonderful. It will probably show up in lots of photos from now on cause I didn't have a proper stand for my cards.

And now I need to prepare for the premiere of Penny Black at Allsorts that goes live tomorrow. Exciting!!

I stamped up some Hanglar images for a blog friend and stamped some extra while I was at it so I figured that maybe one of my followers would like to have them. So, would you?

EDIT: Grats cve who was the first to comment!

DCD - Life's a beach

Morning,

the challenge this week at Die Cut Dreams is Life's a Beach.

This time I've made a layout with my two favourite nephews (and also the only two I have hehe). Layouts are not really my thing but I couldn't resist this photo.

Allsorts - embossing

It's Midsummer's Day so we're in a cottage with my parents this weekend. This is therefor - if all has gone according to plan - a scheduled post for this week's challenge at Allsorts. This week we have our regular sponsor of

One lucky entry will win a £10.00 Voucher to spend in there online shop.

The theme is embossing in any form and I have used an embossing folder from Provocraft, distressed with Aged Mahogany.

And when you head over to check out the amazing DT work at the Allsorts blog, don't forget to send Brenda some love on her birthday!

Our confirmation gift

Since I showed you the card I did for mum and dad to give to my nephew the other day it isn't more than fair that I now expose the gift from me, hubby and the kids.
The confirmation is today but working at gunpoint works for me =).

I made the calendar myself in Word cause I couldn't find one on the net that I liked. I would post it but I can't for the life of me figure out how to link a Word or PDF document =(

Challenges:

Charisma Cardz - for the boys

One stitch at a time - seeing double (the hinges)

ABC challenge - X is for Xtra dimension

Crazy 4 challenges - paper flowers

Confirmation card

I made this confirmation card for my parents to give to my nephew (did that make sense?) and it would be perfect for DCD's challenge Teenage boy in blue and green but I can't enter :(

I had to fiddle a while to mask away the christmas ornament and instead make him hold a cross but I think it was worth it in the end.

Well, I will enter the following challenges instead:

Craftalicious - Monotone

Polka Doodles - Male theme

Crafts and me - Friends and family

Whiff of Joy - photo inspiration (I ignored the red cabinets and focused on the table and flowers)

One stop craft challenge - One for the boys

Die Cut Dreams - Teenage boys in blue and green

Hiya friends,

Monday means a new Die Cut Dreams challenge and this time I know some of you will sigh heavily cause the theme is Teenage boys in Blue and Green :). But you are all seriously talented so I know you can do it!

Our sponsor is Prairie Fairy and we got this adorable image to work with. He's called Lewis and isn't he a cutie :).

A new Tilda box

Yesterday evening I was all alone in the house - except for the cats complaining about the bad weather, so I had some quality craft time. One challenge that I wanted to do cause it's been a while since I've had time to enter was Just Magnolia. So I whipped together this box (template), colours are mainly faded jeans and frayed burlap.

It will work for the following challenges:

Just Magnolia - In the garden

Magnolia down under - embossing (and the butterflies are)

Sukkersott - what you do in the summer (and Tilda is letting her thoughts play in the garden, just like I do)

Stamp Something- Something Summer

StampARTic - flowers

and a challenge Michelle hinted about - thanks hun:

Paper cubed - treat box

Recipe card

Made a quick recipe card for a cheese spread (cause I have a tendency to lose those tiny, cut-out-of-magazines recipes).

I also had two new challenges in mind; Lovely Hanglar Only - shabby look, and Bunny Zoe's Crafts - nice and girly and the eminent Sir Stampalot challenge - punch it.

For the poor people not familiar with this eminent language the recipe is as follows:

Stir 400 grams of cream cheese like Philadelphia until soft. Peal and finely chop 2 cloves of garlic. Fry the garlic in 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Mix garlic and cheese. Chop 100 grams of grilled peppers in oil. Add that plus a drop or two of the oil from the pepper. Mix in 1 dl of finely gritted parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons of finely chopped oregano. Salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate an hour before serving.

Die Cut Dreams - Chocolate and Strawberry

Morning,

this week at Die Cut Dreams the challenge is Chocolate and Strawberry, mmm! My digi strawberry is quickly becoming a favourite so I was thrilled to get a chance to use it again =).

Backing paper is embossed with a Provocraft folder and distressed with Walnut Stain. The cake box template I picked up from Mirkwood Designs.

It also fits Cute Card Thursday's challenge anything but a square.

Penny Black at Allsorts

This is so exciting!!!

Penny Black has invited Allsorts to work with them and create a brand new challenge dedicated to their wonderful world renowned stamps and products.

Our challenge will be monthly and we kick off with our first challenge on 1st July.

As you might expect, all prizes will be Penny Black products provided by the company. Plus we will have a Top 3 every month selected from all qualifying entries.

The Design Team at Allsorts are really looking forward to seeing you all join us on July 1st, but in the meantime I really hope you will join up as a follower on the Penny Black at Allsorts so you don't miss any of the news.

Allsorts challenge - Lace and/or buttons

Good morning to you all,
It's time for a new challenge at Allsorts.
This week it's Fleur who gets to set the theme and she chose Lace and/or buttons.

We also have a new sponsor this week....
*Wink *Wink Ink is a brand new digital stamp company as of January 2010. The images are original, well drawn, and clear with a style you won't find anywhere else! If you like animals, children and fantasy creatures you will love the stamps! New stamps are added to the store weekly, so there is always something new to see!

For my DT card I have used the image Moon Baby from our sponsor company, coloured with distress ink (Mustard Seed and Tumbled Glass). I layered the baby and the star, the image is so easy to work with like that =). Paper lace made with an MS punch, ribbon coloured with Tumbled Glass.

I will put it into the following challenges as well:

One stitch at a time - Boys to men

Charizma Cards - spots and stripes (if the ribbon counts as a stripe)

Truly Scrumptious - sketch

Our Daily Bread Design challenge - summer colours

Cupcake card

I made a quick recipe card for blueberry cupcakes and thought I'd share it. The actual recipe is on the back but the camera decided to ignore me so no picture, sorry.

I made it for Månadens Utmaning (photo inspiration) but it also fits One Stop Craft Challenge (make your own dp - the punched paper is white cardstock stamped with a text stamp using distress ink Tumbled Glass) and Craftalicious Challenges (new - using my hanglar mini kit that is brand spanking new to me)

WoywW

I was a very bad blogger last week cause I didn't get around to comment much, life is hectic for a teacher in the beginning of June. I might be better this week, not making any promises though...

I've managed to clean up one of my book cases. On the desk though there is not much activity cause it's busy, don't have the heart to shoo her off :).
I had my new Hanglar stamps coloured and cut out and went to answer the phone when the little fur ball just invaded my space.

Returning visitors might notice my new Stickles stand. I got it from the Wood Craft teacher at work, it's really neat =)

This is Bella who developed a severe infection and lost all 4 limbs, she is now needing intensive therapy and needs a lot of support to help her through the difficult times ahead.

Please go and read their stories on Kristen's blog,,, but have tissues handy !
I used a whole box since I have an 8-year-old myself...

I will participate in this, I sincerely hope you will too.

Die Cut Dreams - Angels

Morning!

This week at Die Cut Dreams we are sponsored by I did it Creations and we got these gorgeous little folk art angels to play with.

I made a birthday card for one of Amanda's friends using vinyl stickers (make sure you mark the calendar, I used stickers!) a home made pin and I blinged the backing paper a little extra with stickles and liquid pearls. The bow is made of white ribbon, distressed with peeled paint to match.

I also paper pieced the dress and hair bow to stick out a little extra.

All the glitter makes it perfect for Polka doodles this week cause their theme is Dazzle me.

Two birds with one stone

In Sweden we don't use that expression, we say "to hit two flies in one smack", which in my world makes more sense cause the only birds I would consider killing would be magpies and I wouldn't dream of trying to hit them with a rock :)

Anyway, since Penny Black Saturday Challenge has swirls as this week's challenge and Susi & Vikki's Christmas Club has snowflakes I figured I would try to combine them and below is the result.

I used the vintage digi paper from Bearly Mine Designs, just bought them, love them horribly! Distress inks used; Aged Mahogany, Weathered Wood, Chipped Sapphire, Pumice Stone, Antique Linen.

Allsorts strawberry inspiration

Happy Saturday all you crafters and welcome to another challenge at Allsorts where it's Brendas turn to host the challenge again.
It is of course very unfair, considering where I live, but in Cambridgeshire Fens where Brenda lives, the arrival of strawberries in late May is always an eagerly awaited event in the produce calendar, so Brenda wants us to draw inspiration from the pictures below.

You don't have to put strawberries on your project, although of course you can if you want and you can use other colours for skin, hair etc., but the main ones should be taken from the pictures and there are two to make things a bit easier.

Yummy, right? So, I made a criss cross card using a Magnolia image and a digi image I just got from Clear Dollar stamps. The strawberry is painted with aged mahogany distress ink and liquid pearls gold, glossed and manually embossed to get the bulgy look so that it almost pops out of the paper. I also put a large blob from the glue gun in the middle of the strawberry before gluing the edges to the paper.

Other challenges:

Stamp something - use a digi image (the strawberry)

Creative Card Crew - pink & green

Cupcake Craft - summer delights

Charizma Cards - flowers (a strawberry flower counts, right?)

Our Creative Corner - summer inspiration

One stitch at a time - use something new (my brand new strawberry)

Just Magnolia - frame it

Magnolia down under - flowers

Stampin for the Weekend - summer/travel

What a marvellous respons to the Post Pal challenge! Thank you so much!

This fortnight at Stampin for the Weekend the theme is summer/travel so my DT contribution is a digi image of a hot air balloon (cause they make more sense travelling in during the summer hehe). I can't for the life of me remember where the image is from, it's one of those "search through folders, find something pretty, going oooooh" images.
The die cut waves are Provocraft and the words are stamped with my old postman toy set, this at least I know =).

Yummy Cake

The older pride and joy has been on work practise for five weeks and I made her a cake to bring for the staff there. Their diet flew out the window as they hysterically dug in to it =) and they wanted the recipe so my girl came cheerfully home and said "can't you make a pretty sorta card-thingy", bless her =)

Yes I know that I spoil her, she's soon 19 so she should have baked herself and wrote down the recipe herself but... you know...

So here it is. (I've translated the recipe at the end of the post cause I wanted to give you ample warning first; this is a recipe of guaranteed weight gain and possible heart conditions, but it's delicious!)

A few challenges too:

ABC challenge - V is for vintage

Polka doodles - sew and sew

Crafts and me - distressed

Just Magnolia - Hot and spicy (it's a perfect summer cake cause it's so quick and easy to make)

Well, here goes, you have been warned:

Coffee cake

One store bought three layered sponge cake

Filling:
½ dl boiling water
2 tablespoons of instant coffee
4 dl whipped cream (don't whip it to firm)

Toffee topping:
5 dl thick cream
1 tablespoon of cocoa
5 tablespoons of sugar
3 tablespoons of syrup
1 tablespoon of butter

Mix hot water and coffee. When it has cooled down, stir it into the whipped cream. Spread out between the layers of the cake.

Mix everything for the toffee topping in a pan and boil without lid - while stirring - until thick and shiny. This takes 30-40 minutes. Let it cool but not get cold. Pour the topping sauce over the cake and let it spread down the sides. Store in a cool place.

WoywW one year old!!

I had planned to do a total make-over on my craft space for today - labeled boxes, colour coordinated pencils, you know, the works.

But that didn't happen ... I'm not overly surprised... but it was a good thought. And I'm not giving up! One step at a time I'm getting closer to an organized craft space, I know it, I can feel it.

I'll just have to keep going every week, and for each Wednesday there might be a slight change in the appearance of my desk, I might get a tip on clever storage, or just a comment saying it's ok to be imperfect.

So I will Wednesday on, I hope you guys will too!

Hugs
