The Easter brains =)

I repainted them in gold - a girl has the right to a second opinion, hasn't she?

The first one, the total flower explosion, is for the wee one - she's very girly and just luuuuuuurves flowers and bling and pretty stuff :)

The other one is for my older gem and therefor a lot calmer and more sophisticated ;)

If the cats don't kill these eggs they will hopefully be reused for Easters to come.

Challenges? Why not?

Creative Card Crew - vintage

Simon says - distressing

Cupcake craft - Easter + chocolate

Papertake Weekly - open theme

Secret Crafter Saturday challenge - pink and green and flowers

What's on my desk today?

it's Wednesday and on my desk today there are... brains? ... a road kill?

Nope, two Easter eggs to be. I took two transparent plastic eggs, covered them with cotton compresses that I crinkeled, starched it with sugar solution to make it hard and painted with grey acrylic paint. As soon as they are dry I will decorate them.

It started with a wooden box

My sister is turning 40 on Thursday - yes April 1st, she's suffered from this every since I learned about the April Fool's tradition ;) and that is many, many years back
So, I found this wooden box and wanted to make something out of it. Things got out of hand...

I made the box into a flower pot,

I made a bottle tag cause I picked up a pink and gold wine bottle cause I thought it was pretty (might taste like crap, I don't know),

I made a basket for chocolate (it's nice with chocolate to wine... or beer... or milk...)

and a card to go along with it.

But even though the wine might be horrid, the chocolate will make you chubby and the flowers will wither it's still a pretty ensemble :)

I will enter this in:

Creative Card Crew - vintage

Cute Card Thursday - dimensions

Charizma cards - spring

Cupcake craft - spring or Easter + chocolate

Papertake Weekly - open theme

Roses on Paper - punch it

Saturday spotlight - coffee (aimed for the colour)

Magnolia down under - stitching

Spoon full of sugar - shaped card (the bottle tag or basket)

Kaboodle - shaped card

Simon says - it's so distressing

Simon says Children's challenge

My youngest - Amanda - who is 8 is a frequent visitor in my craft room. She has her own spot and her own stash with brightly coloured papers, stickers and rhinestones (all the things that mummy aren't particularly fond of). Her all time favourite is the cuttlebug - sensible girl!

Since Simon says has a challenge for children aged 2-16 with the theme Anything goes she wanted to show a picture she made and the doorhanger to go with the one she got from me a while back. Her sign says Enter and Don't Enter - a must have for all modern girls ;) She just pushes the heart to the appropriate statement.

DCD colour challenge

Morning,
the theme at Die Cut Dreams this week is a colour combination:
Black, white and one other colour.

I used a Karen's Doodles image, a sequin ribbon and the ribbon I showed you wednesday ;)

The very talented Kellie Winnell has reached the 100 K mark, congrats hun!!

And she's offering the sweetest candy:

(Copyright to All that scraps)

So hop on over for your chance to win!!

Allsorts altering - my first challenge!

Morning, I'm hosting my first challenge at Allsorts this week and I chose recycling or altering (of course). There's a vintage kit at stake and the design team just blew me away with their creations so pop over, check it out and please have a go so I can come and visit you all.

I took this plastic IKEA box and decored it with stamped, distressed and ripped paper. The tag says "craft cash" and the intention is to keep the money I allow myself to spend on craft supplies here.

onsdag 24 mars 2010

My desk today

This is my workdesk today, I am going to make a creation based on the ribbon in the middle. That's as far as I've come :)

I so need to organize my pencils better...

A box cause my fingers itched ;)

No access to crafting for five days, no access to internet and not even a mobile phone (cause I switched it off during the flight and had of course forgotten the pin code) so my fingers totally itched this morning. I have surfed around quite a bit (to find out I made third place in the Karen's doodles Scandinavia challenge and FIRST place in the UK challenge) and I have made a candy box for Easter using a box template from My timeless Templates.

The paper is from Creative Company and I think the texture is adorable.

I would go for the obvious challenges Stampin for the Weekend (Easter) and Allsorts (Spring) but I'm not eligeble ;)

So...
Challenges:

A Spoon full of Sugar - Easter

Charizma Cards - something for the kids

Colour Create Challenge - mint, chocolate and cream (the mint is a bit far stretched but one of the eggs...)

Cupcake craft - food & drink

Our Creative Corner - Easter

Papertake Weekly - lilac and lemon

Roses on paper - Easter

Secret Crafter Saturday challenge - Spring

I'm back!

Tuscany was fantastic!! We stayed at the island of Elba and had a marvellous time with great food and outstanding scenery.

So now I'm back, trying to make up for lost time in blogland ;).
Since it's Monday there is a new challenge at Die Cut Dreams. This weeks Challenge theme is New Beginnings

You can interpret this one anyway you wish.... Maybe new baby , New Home, etc so get over there and have fun! I used an image from Mo Manning and made my own background paper using stencils and distress inks. Loads of glittery stickles this time :)

Allsorts challenge 44

This week at Allsorts the theme is spring. I could of course have done something really, really "springy" but I'm in Tuscany right now so this is a scheduled post. And the supercute bear from Karen's doodles is rather spring-like with the little bouquet.

SFTW challenge

It's time for another challenge at Stampin for the Weekend and this fortnight the word is Easter.

I've added a new month to my birthday calendar since Easter is in April. I used a Magnolia image and the Easter egg in the corner is a stamp I got from Vikki.

DCD challenge

Morning,
it's Monday so it's time for a new challenge at Die Cut Dreams. This week the challenge is to use at least two different punches - shouldn't be much of an obsticle right? :)

We are sponsored this week by Di so I used one of her images on my card.

There's a MS flowerlace punch, a retro flower punch, a corner punch and a MS leaf punch - a total of 4 yey!

Christmas box

Yepp yepp, it's loads of snow here anyway so why not... :)

Over at Susie and Vikki's Christmas club the theme is gift or present so I made a gift box - thank you Lotta for the lovely image!

I think boxes are really hard to take good photos of so you'll have to make do with this.

Simon says

Morning and Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely English ladies. Here in Sweden Mother's Day is on May 30 so I will have to wait for my congratulations :)

Yesterday I finished a card (yes a whole day of crafting and I have one card to show you, I know I talk to much on these events hehe) .

Image from Karen's doodles painted with vintage photo and tumbled glass, paper from the Luxury stack (the blue one), flowers from Wild Orchid crafts and sentiment from Skogstokiga.

Challenges:

Simon says - sketch

Secret Crafter - anything goes

Karen's doodles UK - anything goes

Saturday spotlight - slick

Allsorts challenge 43

Evening!

I've been to the grand opening of Nettans in her brand new house - a day filled with crafting, laughter, coffee and stamps :)

But it is time now to put up my DT work for this week's challenge at Allsorts. Lisa has chosen a colour challenge of Pink, Black and White. There's a scrummy prize this week so hop on over and check it out!

I've used silver embossing on the image from Motivet, DP is from Quick Quote Paper and the pink paper is the inside of one of Amanda's books (oops mummy just borrowed) since these strong colours aren't normally my style.

Other challenges:

Flutter by Wednesday - open challenge, just include butterfly, angel or fairy

Cupcake craft - flower power

Charizma cards - butterflies - no, she's not a fairy, she's a butterfly girl ;)

Spoon full of sugar - recycling (or in this case destruction of a book cover)

torsdag 11 mars 2010

Karen's doodles

At Karen's Doodles Scandinavia the first ever challenge is a coloured one - pink, baby blue and lime green.

Totally out of my comfort zone but I managed a bookmark that Amanda loved - cause the colours are very much in HER zone :)

Papers are Blossoms & Butterflies - the first paper pack I ever bought. A bit of a mark over how my style has changed :)

Now I think I must go downstairs and soak some papers and tags and stuff in hot coffee cause that gives a cheap and easy vintage look, just to get me on track again :)

onsdag 10 mars 2010

On my desk today

Slight mess, nothing I can't handle today :)

I just finished an image but I can't decide what to use it for...

tisdag 9 mars 2010

My new thread :)

I won this fantastic thread at ScrappTorget, it's slightly thicker than ordinary sewing thread so it's very visible on cards - I love it!

Of course I had to make a card just to use it :) For the dress and bow I used distress ink Tumbled Glass, worked nicely with the DCWV backing paper. The lace circle is a stamp from Skogstokiga.

I'm tossing it in to the following challenge:

Simon says challenge - mother's day/girly

måndag 8 mars 2010

Hot chocolate

First Christmas item ready -yey!

At Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club the challenge is hot chocolate so I made this very wintery gift box to fit the theme. The prize this week is awesome btw!!

Simon says, Cupcake, Saturday spotlight and Stamp something

I made this card for a collegue and I will enter it in:

Simon says challenge - Mother's Day/girly

Cupcake craft - flower power

Saturday spotlight - friendship

Stamp something - something girly

Die Cut Dreams - no flowers allowed

This weeks challenge theme at Die Cut Dreams is No Flowers allowed
The Prize this week is lol !!! Flowers to reward you for not using them in the challenge !!

If you need a little inspiration just take a look at the stunning creations our fab Design Team have created!
Just to force myself not to use flowers which is sooooo vital to me I decided to make a book cover cause they normally have to be flat ;). This is for my recipes containing fruit and berries.

I have used Magnolia stamps coloured with distress inks, punch from MS, alphabet is called Supermarket and backing paper is white paper distressed, glimmered and stamped with tattered rose.

söndag 7 mars 2010

My stairway to... the upper floor

No paper product to show you today cause the brush I used was of a slightly different size. This is what we used to have...

And this is how it looks today. Blimey, I had no idea there were so many angles and corners on a stairway, it felt like it went on forever...

See ya all tomorrow for a new challenge over at Die cut dreams :)

Allsorts Just for Men

It's week 42 at Allsorts and this week Kirsten would like to see cards/projects
JUST FOR MEN

We have our regular monthly sponsor this week in the shape of

and I made a christening card for my daughter's boyfriend's sister's baby boy (that sounded farfetched didn't it...hehe) using one of the Coco bears from our sponsor. Coloured with distress ink - mainly vintage photo. The punch is MS and the ribbon is a gift from Victoria.

STFW Monochromatic challenge

Prepare for monochromatic over at Stampin for the Weekend.

is sponsoring with a $25 shopping voucher!

I found a really cheap small plastic box at the local hardware store.I guess it's meant to store nails and screws and such but now it holds more important items ;).

The WoJ image is coloured with antique linen and vintage photo, papers are DCWV the Luxury Stack and the sentiment is computer generated.

Other challenges:

WoJ - coffee and cream
Papertake Weekly - buttons, bows, brads or bling.
Creative Inspiration - lace, pins and pearls

onsdag 3 mars 2010

New Distress inks, yey!!!

My new Tim Holtz distress inks came today!!!
And I surprised myself by not throwing myself over the Victorian Velvet and Forest Moss straight away. No, I decided to take the Tumbled Glass and Pumice Stone for a test drive and I don't regret that.
It turned out as below, with a distressed and glimmered background, vintage embossing powder and some wild asparagus paper.

ABC challenge has P for paper piecing so I took a detail picture of that.

Papertake Weekly has buttons, bows, brads and bling (I went for brads) and if you liked the image you can get it (and many more adorable ones) from here.

DCD sketch challenge

Morning!
This week at Die Cut Dreams our very own Karen has made a fantastic sketch for you all to play around with.

The Prize this week is to be our Spotlight Guest Designer for 2 weeks (the challenges dated 15th & 22nd March).

I used a WoJ image and Wild Asparagus papers. Flowers from Tabby crafts, pistils from Tiimari and shabby shutters distress ink all over the place.

I'm adding it to:
The Pink Elephant (add green to your colour combo)
Simon says challenge (vintage with flowers)
Spoon full of sugar (distress inks and pearls)

And thank you Leanne for pointing out that it's also eligeble for Charizma Cards (birthday card with a candle)
